We was in An Grianan for two times (2018 and 2022). And I love it so much!!! I love the cottage, it’s like coming home. The cottage contains all you need. And the landscape is soooo beautiful. I love the beautiful beaches, the ocean, the wild hills… I love it so much, I wish, I can live there. I hope, I can come back as soon as possible.
The house was very clean and extremely well equipped fir our weeks stay. The garden and conservatory were perfect in all weather. There is an amazing sea view and lovely sandy beach a short stroll from the house. The garden is totally dog friendly and with the added of plebty of washing lines. Christine down the road was very helpful if we needed anything. We decided to get a click and collect of food before we arrived which was a good idea as the nearest spar shop is in Kinlichbervie, about 4 miles away. Would recommend for one or two families as there are bedrooms and toilet facilities upstairs and downstairs.
Location of the cottage is great for coastal walks and exploring the north west. Very well equipped and comfortable, with excellent communication from the owner.
The owner Cynthia is lovely very welcoming and gives you lots of information on the area. The cottage is more than what you need, it is fantastic. Plenty of space, the views from the conservatory was amazing. The garden is immaculate and secure, my dog loved chasing a ball around it. Signal not great but that is a blessing when you want to get away from it all. The area is serene, spectacular mountains, beaches the cleanest I’ve ever been to. Sea gorgeously turquoise and white sands. Lots of wild life saw Deer, seals, hawks, cows and lots of sheep. Loved it. We will be back x
We wanted somewhere out of the way and that’s what we got! Spacious comfortable accommodation, with everything you could possibly need catered for by a very lovely lady. Fantastic scenery, beautiful secluded beaches and very, very peaceful!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at An Grianan. The kitchen is well equipped – there was even a bread maker. The large utility room was invaluable for the dogs & all our wet walking gear. We spent most of our time in the conservatory, gazing down to the crashing sea although there were two other spacious reception rooms as well. Excellent holiday house in a beautiful location.
The internet description of this property does not do it full justice; the facilities and equipment are second to none, couple that with the splendid views, nearby fabulous beaches, good walking and cycling on the doorstep. A super holiday for our family (ages between 5 and almost 70), something for everyone. Eating out too was not a problem with catering establishments within easy reach.

Very comfortable stay in a poor(ish) weather window in an extraordinary area. Great amenities, plenty of room and nice and cosy, as well as being good value. Everyone enjoyed the house and will happily return in the future for (hopefully) more beach time. So much to explore up there.
The house is a spacious, comfortable, well equipped, home away from home. The location is perfect for exploring the surrounding area with beautiful beaches within walking distance of the house at sandwood, (9 mile round walk!), Oldshoremore and Polin to name but a few. It was a pleasure to be somewhere that is as close to a pristine natural environment as you are likely to find and where nature is very much in charge. We had a wonderful holiday here and were sad to be leaving, which is always a good sign! Thanks go to Cynthia and Atholl for making sure our stay went smoothly and we will definitely be back.
